Dr. Sayre-Carstairs' philosophy of treating gum disease is to use a conservative nonsurgical approach whenever possible. She uses bacterial testing to identify and treat gum disease with antibiotics and thorough cleanings. If more advanced treatment is needed, she uses a BioLase laser, a leading edge technique which does not require anesthesia or traditional surgical instruments.
